You know, I really can't either. Most of the time, I'm either intrigued (but still annoyed) or bored or hating him with the fire of a thousand burning suns (insert romance novel here). That said, I guess I might be lying if I wasn't a bit in the former frame of mind as well -- I'm still writing fic involving him, so I have to be.

I'm glad you liked this! Thanks for reading and reviewing!

I think you should seriously be ashamed of yourselves, PTSD is a real illness which real people have, they are not violant wife beatters, they have suffered truamas ans by writing this you are saying they are.

what part of that episode made you think owen is on parr with a wife beater,
the part were he threw the pan in the sink,? or the part when he was horrified that cristina was scared of him and imediatly agreed to go back to therepy ?

Owen is ill yes and he was a jerk in the episode but he's no abuser
you want ot talk about an abuser lets talk about Burke and his emotional abuse towards Cristina
thorwing her off surgurys when she made him mad,
slamming doors in her face,
Blaming her for his hand trmmors when she risked eveything for him
Bullying her onto all the things he wanted never even thinking what she might want.
That is an abuser the worst kind.

Okay, first of all, if you actually have a journal, please post with it. I understand if you're just a passer-by but if you're someone I know then please have the guts to say something under your real name ( ... )

While I completely disagree with your assumption that slybrunette is writing Owen as a 'wife beater' in the colloquial sense of the word, I also just wanted to point out this...

PTSD is a real illness which real people have, they are not violant wife beatters.

PTSD and family violence are not mutually exclusive. A diagnosis of one does not preclude an individual from carrying out the other...

In addition to this, I am a clinical psychologist, and like slybrunette pointed out, there are documented cases of legitimate PTSD sufferers unintentionally injuring both strangers and loved ones alike (as she has written here). It does happen, there are articles about it.

well, I can't say I enjoyed it, because it's dark and painful (I loved Cristina being her badass self, tough) but it's very intense and well written. It made me rethink of O/C, even if in my little fangirl heart, I still ship them ^^. You did a really great job of making it real. Because, for me, it's what fanfiction is all about : giving your point of view, and making a fandom more deep by showing what's going on when we're not watching.
You managed to make bad feels good (I'm not really sure I'm making any sense lol). You're very talented ^^
Is it weird to ask you if I can read your paper about PTSD ? It sounds really interesting ! (even if I'm not sure I will really get all of it, English not being my first language ... =_=)

Yeah, I'm thinking that this isn't one of those 'enjoy' fics, lol. But you're right, that's what fanfic is supposed to be -- a series of 'what if's'. A lot of people don't get that but I really very much appreciate those who do.

My paper is a ten page overview of PTSD. I can definitely send it to you if you want, I would just need an email address :)

And thank you very much! I'm glad you found this interesting!

I loved nursebadass's piece, yours is def fabulous as well. I love all the interaction with the other characters, especially mere/cristina. I'm glad Alex was the one who would punch him out, cause as much as he refuses to admit it he cares about Cristina. This was really awesome, and i promise to try and read and comment on your fics more often.

Alex and Cristina -- that's a friendship that intrigues me. Because it's so very much outwardly ignored and yet there's a clear bond between them that comes from sharing way too many experiences. It's there with the whole fab five, especially the last three that we have.

I'm very glad you liked this! Thanks for reading and reviewing! I do appreciate it.

Hey, so I probably butted in with my two cents worth where it was really none of my business but, yeah... whatever.

I'm so late to this party due to the easter concert trip that I was telling you about, but I'm just about all caught up now...

This fic is excellent in my opinion. Cristina's reaction was perfect, the initial shock, the 'living inside her own head' while Lexie was fussing, the declaration to Meredith that she knows it's over. All of it.

Everyone was so perfectly in character. Meredith's protective 'come stay at my house incase he tries to win you back' and Lexie's misguided hero worship of Alex (right alongside my OWN misguided hero worship of Alex!), and finally Alex's completely inappropriate but also completely Alex reaction to what happened ( ... )

Fun fact: until today, I did not know you were a clinical psychologist. Or maybe I knew and it didn't connect. You've been on my flist for how long? LOL ( ... )

I did not know you were a clinical psychologist. Yup. Sure am. I actually specialise more in clinical neuropsychology and I work with people who've had traumatic brain injuries, but technically I'm a clinical psych.

YOU ARE GOING TO WRITE THAT DAMN FIC OR SO HELP ME I WILL GET ON A PLANE AND FORCE YOU TO. DO YOU HEAR ME? Well, since you put it like that... I'm definitely not gonna write it, because I'd LOVE for you to jump on a plane and come visit! But, seriously... yeah, it'll probably happen today while I'm meant to be writing up a report for one of my patients! Oops ( ... )

That is freaking awesome; I can't believe I didn't know that about you.

Hun, I'd love to jump on a plane and come visit, believe me, but my bank account would hate me lol. I do really want to see that fic though. A LOT.

You have my permission, completely. Also my utter joy because it sounds AWESOME. You must post it.
