That is the question, isn't it? But they're not all different, I don't think. I think Alex uses his "I'm not that guy" spiel to get out of feeling guilty for succumbing to they're worst expectations. I do think he's a good guy deep down, but it's just easier not to be so he doesn't show it anymore.
