I love the idea that Jack wasn't there at Kate's trial but he was there. Being all concerned but not overprotective.

I can't see Jack completely cutting himself off from her at any point. Even if he might want to, I just don't think he'd have it in him. Especially not since he knows what her trial would mean to her, he'd probably want to know how it all turns out.

Kind of reinforces the idea that even when they're not TOGETHER, they're together. And this is almost exactly how I picture things going, deals behind the scenes by Widmore and Dharma to keep them all quiet and separate. It's sad and yet, fitting for the show. ♥

Yeah, I'm kind of thinking that's how Kate is not in jail in that flashforward. Someone's got to be doing something behind the scenes, and you know that Widmore and Dharma just have to be involved somehow.

Aside from the fact that it makes me sad for the American justice system, this is a really good Kate-POV.

It's something I've imagined before and that's exactly how Jack dealt with the media circus in my mind. I can see him hiding from them, beard and shades and all, he would hate the attention.

And this:

Sawyer would’ve come, she knew, but he was serving a sentence of his own for the murder of a man named Frank Duckett.

I know it's not supposed to be funny, but it cracked me up how casual it sounds and how true it is for those two. Oh, yeah, Sawyer would be a sweetheart, but he's kinda busy with his own homicide charges. Sorry, it's my twisted sense of humore. :D

lovely kate fic, you write her so well, a lot of people seem to struggle with her i like how tho this mentions both jack and sawyer it's really about her i don't think there's enough kate centric fics.

Love the deal she makes i wonder if that is what she will do in the future of lost to keep herself out of jail.

Thank you! I didn't want to write a fic that was Jate or Skate, I wanted to write a fic about Kate, and that was it. Of course, it leans in one direction, but it's not about her relationship with either of them, not really.

I kind of have a feeling that she might make some kind of deal that will lead to her avoiding jail. It seems like a likely option, to me at least.
