So this challenge is something I'd been seeing a lot Tumblr, and since it looked fun, and I've never attempted to record my reading habits in any way, I thought I'd give it a shot myself. I read it in 8th grade, when I was basically working through the whole library, and while most other books faded from memory, that one really stuck with me. I picked it up a couple years ago, after spending a night on Google trying to remember what the heck it was, and found it was even better than I remembered it.
Strange, otherworldly, sometimes darkly humorous, heart-wrenchingly beautiful in places, this book is madness and I highly recommend it.

Probably the best introductions would be Howl's Moving Castle, Archer's Goon, and Homeward Bounders. But she never wrote a bad book.
Looking at your list, I'll also suggest Alan Garner, The Owl Service; and you might want to pick up a random Dion Fortune book and see if she's to your taste.
