Some attempts are meant to fail.

I planned on making a journal entry before I retired tonight and in it I was going to tell all of you how clean the inside of my car is. I figured that some ppl would be interested in this info since I was going on and on about how I wanted to clean it and blah, blah, blah. Well...I am still making this entry...but I can't tell all of you that my ( Read more... )

I'd heard about this a while ago and it made me extremely leery of eating Domino's Pizza. (I still really like it though...) I think you are right. I think Tom thinks he'll be able to keep everything "bad" out, but he won't. The first generation who move there willingly will all be happy. But their kids will sneak out, and smuggle ungodly things back in. And you're right about the internet. All it takes is one hacker kid who gets Charter instead of ISPTOM and it's all over. Or... maybe they won't have computers at all. *gasp ( ... )

You made me think of another good point. Are all the potential buyers going to be tested for "wordly" diseases?

that's some craziness! my friend's father in law formed a Y2K survivalist christian community back in 1998 or 1999 out in BFE arkansas, moving from southern california. he tried to force/manipulate my friend and her now ex-husband and their daughter to move out there with them. i found a little blurb online. they had the same sort of ideas. i couldn't find a website for them anymore though. wonder what panned out. i know they built a lot of houses and wanted to form a christian community that was completely self sufficient, even with medical professionals. and they were stockpiling diesel cars & diesel fuel ( ... )

It's weird because I hear ppl talking about signs for things to come. Is this a sign? Are more ppl going to become crazy and build communities to keep the world out? This whole thing is insane. You can do anything to stop the temptation and even kids knowing what's out there...but you can't stop free will and imagination.

Those ppl were all crazy over that y2k stuff. The only thing I did was buy more bottled water because I figured there would be some sort of wide spread panic and the price of bottled water would double. I was not paying $3 a bottle! At the time of y2k I had a smart girlfriend who went on an on about how nothing was going to happen. I wasn't worried at all.

One more thing. Your icon...do you have a bigger pic for it? I would love to make a 1 inch button out of it for my button company. I will send you one....

Actually I will have someone else send it because I am still a slacker.

uh, yeah that is just a bit creepy.
reading things like that just makes me feel more naive, because i'd like to think we're getting progressively less "brainwashed" in that way...but, uh, guess not? ew.

thats ridiculous though. it'd be absolutely impossible to filter out everything "bad" like hes mentioning. of course there will be the rebels who stir shit up too. gah damn, makes me want to boycott dominoes pizza i tell ya!
