The Tosh look-alike thing with the space pigs is explained in Torchwood season two, yesyes. It's in a conversation, almost completely random, and very nicely done, in my opinion.

It's in the last episode, and you sort of have to listen for it. Because they definitely don't come right out and say it.

And I've completely spoiled myself for last episode of DW, but it's not upsetting me like when I spoiled myself for Torchwood finale! Yaaaay!

Well, not in a 'this makes me cry' way anyway. More of a 'wtf?' way. Which I expected from the episode anyway.

I must have been too distracted by James Marsters to notice, then. Better have another look. I know they explained how Tosh and everyone ended up at Torchwood, but I didn't get the part on the pigs.

Spoilers be hard to stay away from. Arrr. Anyway, I'm looking forward to another season of Dr Tennant.

I wonder, though, is it official that the Doctor can only regenerate 12 times? It seems a bit limited, considering how many times the series have been incarnated, as to say... if we've only got one doctor left, what happens when that actor gets bored with the show? *ponders*

It's while Tosh and Owen are talking on the comms.

Officially twelve regenerations is the maximum, but some Time Lords (ie the Master) have gotten around it. Officially, the Time Lord High Council was able to give Time Lords extra regenerations - how the Master got his, beside the stealing bodies thing - so who knows what happens now.

There have been "half-Doctors'----the Watcher, the Valyard---in the series before, and they didn't count towards the 12 regenerations bit. This "Doctor Ten-and-a-half" can't count, either. It's already been established that regeneration is a tricky thing, and that some Time Lords (or Ladies, Romana comes springing to mind) have better control over than others. The Doctor is historically a bit useless when it comes to controlling his regenerations. Couple that with the various "half-Doctors" in the old continuity, and I can't see where this would count towards the Twelve Regenerations Only bit ( ... )

But hey, would this actually mean no more Daleks, like ever?

Has it ever? In this case they deliberately didn't show Davros' death, specifically so he could be brought back if necessary. And it's always necessary. (But not the New York set -- the Cult of Skaro. Three of them died there, and the last was Dalek 'I'm Insane Now' Caan).

My thought re: the old woman was that she might've been in Last of the Time Lords, but I don't think so. Other than that, perhaps someone from the Classic Series? Ehm... the actress is apparently called Valda Aviks, but apparently not the one who shows up on IMDB. So I dunno.

Mmm, but wasn't there one that just teleported away in the end of the episode? *needs to check that up* The black one?

Old Who is something I've never watched, I just thought she was meant to seem familiar. *shrug*
