I'm exactly the same way, one of the reasons I love science documentaries about space or tectonics or like anything Brian Cox presents, the epic swelling music and dramatic voiceovers talking in epic sounding superlatives. Oh, I love it. Lol the X-Factor and the way they have the empty queue and the man sweeping the hall and empty chairs and what not. Then there's this kid whose grandfather applied for them on his deathbed or who's doing it for their wife or mum or something and then they go in and blow you away. I love getting swept up in it all. It's very reliable. :D

YES!!!! Although I am equally fond of the scenerio that goes:

Man sweeping up, obligatory shot of Simon looking pissy, he whispers something like 'today has been a waste of my time' and then it cuts back to the waiting room...where there's a shy guy in a tracksuit with his 50,000 relatives bouncing up and down...and he goes 'my name is GaryStu, I grew up in a bad crowd, no one loved me *cue sad music* but then I was adopted...I want to be a popstar like my idol *insert popstar who is amazing* to show kids they can do better if the JUST DREAM' then he walks on stage and he crowd cheers and Simon looks him up and down and goes, "what's your name" and GaryStu tells him. "and why do you want to be a recording artist", and GaryStu says 'so I can be famous like 'insert name of popstar'. And Simon raises his eyebrows and goes, 'OK then.'
