I suspect I won't change my mind about Rachael Yamagata, though.

So, the other day, my mom asked me what I thought of Regina Spektor. She'd bought Begin to Hope and was asking what I knew about it. I told her the truth: I'd seen her open for the Dismemberment Plan, and I couldn't stand it. She had a strange baby-voice that was certainly an affectation, and I couldn't tell if she was trying to be funny or not. ( Read more... )

but who can say that they liked him back when he had the *short* haircut? (Answer: Just me, Michelle, and a whole bunch of people in Chicago who don't count.

So if you're talking strictly impressions from the shows themselves, you were actually *right* about Phantom Planet, because your impression from that show was that they were good. Then again, maybe it still counts as wrong, since you loved that show but don't know what they're up to now.

I was wrong the first two times I saw Lincoln open for TMBG, when I thought they were OK and then kinda annoying and tiresome. Then, the next two times, when I thought they were awesome, I was dead-on. Then I bought their album and they broke up.

I saw Peaches twice. The first time was WAY more up close than when we saw her at Siren. It wasn't cool. Ask Sara C. She knows.

And here's to the power of the media!!! i saw regina spektor on an early sunday morning show, and, having never heard of her before, asked you if you had, then got the cd.....who'da thunk that one 5 minute blurb on tv would generate so much excitement for regina....i played it at my party and everyone loved her.....if ya wanna push something, get it on tv!!! and, i was wrong about ok go because as you know, they opened for rufus the nite we went to see him and i thought they were just ok go away, and now, since ive seen the video, (and heard the song, played by the media over and over again), i love them...goes to show ya, you cant always go by first impressions....
