Xaldin steps into the paths without hesitation, turning toward home. "Did you take notes?" he asks as they walk, "Approximate time to lack of consciousness and the like?"
Xaldin steps out into the air and allows himself to fall. Not all the way to the water, but several hundred feet before he slows to a stop and lets home sink into every part of his being.
Eventually Xaldin returns to where Xigbar is and reads over his shoulder. He'd take notes as well, but they pretty much boil down to blackness followed by white agony.
Hell.
No.
Where the hell is Demyx when you need him?!
Good thing Xigbar has an Elixir, and is more than willing to pry Xaldin's mouth open, and pour the medicine down.

Xigbar won't let the mouse get Xaldin. Or any of the others. Probably not even Axel.

This doesn't mean that he wants to put Xigbar in the position of having to try to defend Xaldin. He'd fight, too.
"Thanks, man."

He waves open a way into the dark paths, and waits for Xaldin to pass through before following himself.

Then he nods and keeps his damn mouth shut. "Too bad."

"There'll be other experiments, dude." Like the kind that don't threaten his existence.
