oh, that food makes me homesick! and yeah, the raddish cakes usually have bits of chopped up pork in them. those sticky rice and mushroom 'noodles' thing is one my my favorites too, except i like them stuffed with shrimp! *drools*

its good to have more info on them! I've only had them a few times and so far we've been sticking to one place as it seems the best, but I was trying to find some stuff that was meat free for BJA if he ever decided to go down and try it, and since I dont like sea food, i couldn't give pointers there!

i think that sticky rice gave me a rash (I have no idea how!)..... but it sure was tasty!

A LOT of dim sum has meat or seafood in it. the best thing i can think of that doesn't have meat hidden somewhere in it are the egg custard tarts. those have been my favorite since i was itty-bitty and i still crave them today! while the raddish cakes almost always have meat included, the tarot cakes MIGHT not. i can't really remember because i'm not that big on tarot to begin with, lol.

aaaah Benji seems to love the Tarot, so we get one order to start him off. I know the first time we had it, it didn't have anything else in it and I thought it was kinda bland... but the one above had sauce, some beef (I think, or pork), some mushrooms and maybe some onions....

The Egg custard tarts sure went fast, i couldn't believe he didn't leave me ONE or even half of one!! (although, I was occupied with the sesame buns, but he got at least one of those!) hahahah I was hoping he'd get some Mango pudding to, but he didn't think it would travel well .. :(

It all looks SO good!

I'm so hungry now. I can handle meat in small quantities, I just didn't want anything that was nearly all meat.

Is Benji on the laundry with Vlad?

Ahh well now you know if you go there and have some stuff to choose from =D

Yup.. It was all freshly washed too... 8/

Tiber would have gotten up and ran to his perch as soon as he saw benji climbing in.

Wow, you ate almost exactly what I ate on Saturday when we went for dimsum after the boy's graduation at Safeco. I love love love the egg custard things, the Taro things, the steamed buns. Oh yum, making me want to go get some right now! (Too bad I no longer live in Chinatown.)

hehe I gotta say that's about the best stuff there ;) heheheh

Congrats on the boys' Grad! Safeco huh? that had to be a HUGE Ceremony!

It wasn't so much huge (didn't even come close to filling up the whole place) as long and hot (sunburn!) and boring. It would have been bigger if it was the whole college, but it was just SU Law School (the law school is on semester and undergrads are on quarter system, so the ceremony in June will be huge I'm sure). Still, they called everyone's name individually. Took forEVER!

Oh, I'm so behind, I haven't even looked at your zoo pictures yet, LOL!

I love those steamed buns. I know them by the name humbow, but I know they have other names. I do really miss dimsum. When I lived in Portland--even though there China town is very small, there is a restaurant or two that had a pretty authentic dim sum. I doubt the Chinese restaurants around here would have anything like that, and even if they did, I don't really have anyone to go with.

Cute kitty! Yeah, Vlad does seem really tolerant of Benji.

OMG, yummy pics and cute ones of Benji and Vlad! Wow, Vlad really reminds me a lot of Packet, our old office kitty.
