Mother's day DIMSUM!

May 16, 2006 11:58

This is a post about food... as soon as i get done with complaining about this morning :)

WARNING!  ANOTHER LONG POST! :)

First I didn't go to bed till late, cause i was chatting with someone , and was slow on work all day yesterday cause i spent so much time updating mother's day pictures :P  oh well... i was bad.

So today I woke up early with polo, still groggy, but just couldn't get a decent nights sleep.. checked on my Animal crossing game and decided to do the 'killer'  25 minute Slim in Six exercising.  Basically its a lot of moving and a lot of squats.  I made it.. but then because i hadn't had anything to eat i was feeling really woozy.  So I grabbed a yogurt and put some granola on it, and ate about half of it, before I started to feel really nauseated.   I drank some more water and sat down for a while, and while i'm still groggy i feel much better and am glad to have bumped my Exercising up a notch.

Now for the food!

While on the lake, before we headed under the bridge to the Arboretum, we pulled over  and had our breakfast.  Below our outside pictures of each item, and when I got home I decided I wanted to take inside pictures of them.  one of my internet buddies never had any of it before so I wanted to show him what they looked liked, actually a few haven't......  One guy I spent like an hour sending pictures by email to his slow arse computer :P   All of it was super tastey and while we had way too mcuh, its all best to be eaten fresh.  Polo went down to the JADE GARDEN down to the international district to pick this up.  Oh and
Indigotine  I'm sorry to say that it seemed each item had a little bit of meat thrown in (besides the deserts).  I know I've had these same items at other places, where there was no meat, but this place seemed to like to put a little bit of everything in everything we've tried so far, but they do have other items on their main menue.. like the Walnut Shrimp has gotten lots of raves, and if its similar to other places ive been to with family ontop of the quality of food we've gotten from there it should be absolutely fantastic!

The First thing I opened was the desert!  How tempting!  Sesame Seed mochi balls and custard filld pastries!  Actually, polo ate all the pastries! I didn't get one bite!  But the sesame seeds are my  favorites!

Then came the Raadish cakes.. they're pan fried and there were a few bits of something that reminded me of the bbq pork one gets as a side order at americanized chinese resturants, but it wasn't exactly that.

Then came Steamed pork wontons.  Just like a wonton in wonton soup! The next box had the sticky rice and mushroom noodles.. those are wonderful!  (and no meat at all in there!)

And at the bottom of the pile was Fried Taro and steamed bbq pork buns that my mom calls Mana puas (i probably butchered the spelling), since its pretty big in hawaii and for costco to sell them in a hawaiian style bag.   (second picture is the inside of the Taro and the wontons).

Boy was I STUFFED! and that was basically just HALF of what he bought!  the rest wouldn't have fit in the bag!

Now for more Benji and Vlad Cuteness that I promised a few days ago!
We had just taken out a load of laundry and of course Vlad takes advantage of the warm clothes.  He's been sitting ontop of the pile for while, then benji wanted to sit next to him.  Vlad didn't mind one bit.
