I thought I had recognized your name when I was reading Laura's post yesterday...when I just checked your name now and visited your site--I remembered!
Great stuff! And such dedication! To work in such time-consuming medium--but with such GREAT results!
cool!
WELCOME to Live-Journal!!! we NEED more artists in "this neighborhood"!
Lefty, Righty, they think they are like donkeys and elephants, two-party system. But it's HALIBURTON, that little tiny lizard brain buried way down near your spine that controls them both! We get all uppity and think we think - but ol' lizard is leading us all around by the nose! Coffee helps...
No, they were submitted to the annual Northeast Fine Art Juried Show sponsored by the gallery here in town. The very same show that Emily was accepted in last year (and basically the "start" of all this gallery-stuff)
But speaking of framers, I picked up Eleanor yesterday. She's AWESOME!!! I will post her this weekend.
I wouldn't have beleived that a year ago. What could possibly make MY art anymore done! But Cheryl completely changed my mind on that! And she's such an artist w/ that eye for what frame and what matte(s) makes what pop and accents this.... It's amazing! I go to shows all the time and make note of frame jobs and it's sad so many artists try to cut corners (it IS expensive!) w/ hand done or store-bought frames that don't do their piece justice (and often pull it nto a category it doesn't belong!)....
I read somewhere that David Lynch always kept his collar buttoned to the absolute top because he "doesn't like the wind on [his] neck." Just because of that.
I'll double-check my sources but it wouldn't surprise me... he's definitely straddling that line!
Lost Highway was a gem! I'm sure I saw it at midnight when you came home from the vid store, so it was like never seeing it before when I watched it Tuesday....
