“Zoey!!!” Abby squealed, practically picking her friend up in a hug.
Zoey laughed when Abby let her go and saw Tony.
“TONY!!” Abby yelled, and flung herself at him. Tony was prepared, though, so he only stumbled back a little.
Abby stepped back, but was still practically bouncing. ”What are you guys doing here? I thought our lunch date was next week?”
“Oh, it still totally is!” Zoey responded with equal excitement. Tony shot her a confused glance.
“I forgot to tell you about that didn’t I?” Zoey said sheepishly, “Oops”
Tony shook his head slightly and then returned his attention to Abby.
“Unfortunately, we’re here for business not pleasure Abbs.”
“Yeah, we were wondering if you could run this through the facial recognition database?” Zoey said as she pulled out a flashdrive.
Abby took it from her and plugged it into her computer, but didn’t click on anything. She turned around.
“If you two think you can just waltz into my lab and… wait a minute, how did you two even get down here?”
Tony and Zoey glanced at each other, smirking.
“Never mind you two can sweet talk your way into anything. Anyway, if you think you can just waltz in here and expect me to do a facial rec scan without knowing why you want it done, you are certifiably insane!” Abby said in a huff. She crossed her arms and gave them a look.
“Um, you never asked us why we wanted it done-“ Zoey started.
“And you snatched it out of our hand before we could explain.” Tony finished.
“Well……Fine!” Abby said, “Why do you want it?”
“Why do you think we want it?” Tony asked, with a smirk.
Zoey elbowed him. “We just want a name to go with a face Abby. Please? If you do this for us…Tony will pay for your lunch next week!”
“What?” Tony said, turning towards her.
Zoey refused to look at him, but a smile was tugging at her lips. Abby laughed at their antics.
“Ok, ok. I’ll do it if Tony buys me lunch and a dessert after.” Abby said, still giggling. Tony glared at both of them.
“Nope, not happening.”
“Deal” Zoey said.
Tony threw his hands up in defeat. Abby and Zoey shook hands, laughing at Tony all the while.
“I think you two conspire against me, secretly, before we meet up.” Tony said accusingly.
“What? You can’t buy your friend lunch Tony?” Zoey asked, innocently.
Tony just glared at her in response.

As Zoey and Abby went to work on the picture, Tony wandered around Abby’s lab, looking at all the different machines. He didn’t touch them though. He didn’t want to suffer from the wrath of Abby if he broke one of her precious machines.
He went over to her evidence table, looking at all of the items in the plastic evidence bags.
He picked a few up, looking at the tiny things in them. Then he picked one up that had a vial of blood in it. He stared at it and felt sick to his stomach, as he remembered one of last days as a police officer.

*Flashback*
Tony walked into the evidence room at the Pittsburgh PD. It was the fourth police station he had worked for. The last three, well, had corruption in them. Bribery and pay-offs were a common occurrence. He had just chalked it up to him being in the wrong department, illegal drug violations, and was just in bad police stations. He always left once he realized what was really going on.
So when Pittsburgh offered him a place in homicide, he couldn’t refuse. He had worked there for about two years, and thought it was great. Brad, his partner and some of his friends would say some strange things sometimes, but he just dismissed it. He figured homicide cop-talk was different than drug cop-talk. That was until he saw his partner in the evidence room.
Tony watched as his partner slipped a vial of the suspect’s blood, found at the crime scene, into his jacket pocket.
“What are you doing?” Tony asked. Brad jumped slightly, thinking that he was alone. When he saw it was Tony, he relaxed and smiled.
“What’s up Tone?” He asked casually.
“What are you doing with the suspect’s blood?” Tony asked again.
Brad just smiled at him again and started towards the door.
“There are still a lot of things you need to learn Tone, like not asking too many questions.”
As he passed Tony, Brad patted him on the back.
“This isn’t anything you have to concern yourself with. Drinks are on me, by the way, if you want to come out with me and the boys tonight.” Brad said as he walked out of the room.
Tony stood there, rooted to the floor, just staring at the evidence table. He couldn’t believe what he had just seen or heard. His partner had just taken the only hard evidence they had on their suspect. He was going to let a murderer go free, for what? A few grand? That’s what someone’s life was to him?
Tony ran to the men’s room and threw up. He couldn’t help it.
After he was done, he cleaned himself up and walked out of the bathroom. He walked straight into his chief’s office to give him his two weeks notice. He didn’t have the heart to turn in his partner face-to-face with the chief, so the next day he left an anonymous tip that Brad had been tampering with evidence. Brad was under investigation during Tony’s last few days.
He barely talked to anyone at the department after that, and after his two weeks was up, he left. He called up Zoey and she said that he could stay with her, until he got another police job.
“Sure you can stay with me Tony. Maybe you could even get a job around here.” Zoey said over the phone.
“No. No, I’m done with being a cop. Most of them just do whatever it takes to get any extra cash. Hell, maybe they all do and I’m just naïve enough to think that they wanted to uphold justice.” Tony said, angry and confused and, if he was honest with himself, a little heartbroken.
“Tony, you know that can’t be true.” Zoey said calmly. Tony laughed sarcastically.
“Every single police department I’ve worked for has had bribery as an SOP. And don’t give me this bullshit that you think the police are all good, not after what happened with your brother.”
There was a pause on the other line.
“Sorry, that was too far” Tony said, regretting his comment.
“No, you’re right. Well, I mean, you’re definitely not wrong. But what are you gonna do now?” Zoey asked.
“I don’t know, I’ll figure something out.” Tony said.
And they had. God had given them the permission that police stations and regular people didn’t have; to kill the wicked and save the suffering.

“Right Tony?”
Tony dropped the vial of blood back on Abby’s evidence table.
“What did you say?” Tony asked turning to look at them.
“I was telling Abby about the time that you and that cute bartender were going to get matching tattoos on your… are you ok?” Zoey stopped mid-sentence, looking slightly concerned.
“Yeah, you look a little pale Tony. Maybe you should drink some water or something.” Abby said, “Come here.”
She grabbed his arm and led him to her desk. She pushed him down onto the chair.
“Sit! Stay mister!” Abby said, pointing accusingly at him. Then she walked out of the room.
Tony pouted and crossed his arms. Zoey laughed at him from the computer.
“Gibbs! Perfect timing!” They heard Abby yell outside the door. Zoey stopped her typing and minimized Abby’s program.
Tony frowned, something about that name was too familiar.
Abby rushed in the lab with a huge Caf-Pow! She shoved it into Tony’s hands.
“Drink it! You’ll feel better!” Abby said and then waited for Tony to take a sip. He took a drink and coughed a little.
“Abbs, I haven’t had this since college.” Tony said, giving the Caf-Pow! back to her.
“Tony!” Abby whined, “It’ll help!”
“I’m fine!” Tony said, standing up.
“Fine!” Abby took a long sip from her drink, “Ok…You have to meet Gibbs.”
“Who’s Gibbs?” Tony asked, before seeing the gray-haired man in the room. His heart stopped for a second. No way. There was no fucking way.
