Are some of the household things standard for night shift nursing, or do you get paid extra for those things? I guess for that matter is it standard for any kind of in-home nursing?
some of it's "extra" in that I'm not expected to do the dishes, but if I don't there's no guarantee of a clean safe counter and empty clean sink for me to make his meals at in the morning, never mind use overnight for myself. same with the laundry- I'm not required to do his laundry but if I don't there's no guarantee that there'll be clean towels and washcloths [we do use a LOT for him, this is no small item] or sheets, etc. It's not that they're bad about it. it's that there's so much to keep up with, and they have their whole rest of their lives, too
