And the crazies come out in droves.  I shouldn't say crazies, I guess.  Almost all of my clients and patients today were quite reasonable, but there were so MANY of them.  In a normal week, in addition to my normal (usually booked solid) appointments, we might see 1, maybe 2 emergencies.  Today we saw 6.

My brow would have furrowed out of sympathetic concern for you if I'd heard that. You spoke to her of experiencing mistreatment at a young age, so it sounded like you were a victim of child abuse.

Wow, six is a lot. Were there any correlations between the types of injuries/sicknesses?

My delivery didn't imply child abuse, but I guess it does kinda sound like that. And yes, 2 of my emergencies were small dogs with collapsing tracheas. It's not something you generally see on an emergency basis either, so it's weird to have 2 in one day...

I will probably never fully overcome the trauma myself, but I am much better since my sisters had lots of kids. It's kinda important not to flail wildly when a baby you're holding accidentally tickles your belly. Haven't dropped one yet!
