An interesting ride for sure. I hope you guys can figure out where you need to be and create a successful practice there. If it's not Oregon, we'll miss you, but you need to figure out what's best for your own family.
Interesting that you equate "the church" with political conservatism and particularly the Republican (RED state) party. Never underestimate the power of popular culture among a lot of people, I guess.
I didn't intend to equate the church with conservatism or with RED states. I intended to list those as separate characteristics that we are considering for each of the locations that we are examining.
We would like to live somewhere where the church is vibrant and strong and well accepted by those who are not members of the church.
We would like to live where conservatives are respected and accepted.
We would like to live in an area where being a non-democrat is not pishaw'ed as being uneducated or as un-informed.
However the parts of OR that are not that blue, tend to have the drawback that they are not very populated and thus suffer from the same problem as rural MT. A good sense of community but not very good to build a chiropractic practice.
