My rents... can be surprisingly geeky

Back in December, we visited friends of ours who have 5 awesome kids. We've known the kids since birth, and have been pretty big in their lives most of their lives. So it was fun to see them all again. The youngest, Benjamin (whose 6), is very much a drama king. I think it's because of his personality and the fact that he's last in a family of 1 ( Read more... )

Heh. My parents (who also disapprove of BtVS/AtS - probably same reasons) know I like the shows, don't really know much about them.

The other day, I mentioned something about sci-fi to my mother, and Dad chimed in with "Is this that... Biffy the fighter thing?"

Mum gets the name right - but is convinced that Buffy is a vampire...

hehe - they both called it "Buffy", mom calls it "is this for that Buffy thing?" and that's it... but it's funny.

A friend of mine said to me the other day "Oh I thought this might interest you, That Angel guy is on another show now. It looked neat, he is like a cop or something and there is some CSI type stuff in the show too."

I say "you mean Bones?"

"Yeah that's it," he says. "I don't know when the show starts but it looks good."

After I repeatedly bang my head on the desk I informed him that 'Bones' is not new and has been on for years.

to another friend (Who is pretty close to my mother's age) while at the gym I said "Channel 27, your BoyFriend is on." and she knew right away I meant David B. in Bones LOL. She loved Angel but likes Bones even more... I don't think the story has anything to do with it though :)

it cracks me up because I feel like he should know.

My response to this was "so tell me again, what's the address to that rock you've been living under again?"

He replied that he was still living at his mom's, again, more head to desk action!

This is funny because it's actually my DAD who got me to watch Buffy in the first place! LOL! My mom is clueless.
