Thank you for sharing this - I'm afraid life is full of goodbyes of one form or another. It's much easier to keep in touch these days with the various internet communities. My son is addicted to My Space and Facebook (I have enough addictions without joining either!)It sounds as if you're beginning a new phase in your life- enjoy it, but keep in touch with those you're moving away from.

Thanks for taking the time to read and comment on my entry! :-) Yes, it is more convenient to keep in touch, thanks to those kinds of Web sites (I'm members of them too, though lately I haven't visited them as much as I visit my LJ). Instant messaging is something that I like to use, and I'm quite familiar with that. I had heard of the program Skype, but I didn't realize its significance until I started living in this dorm and witnessed people "calling" home through their headphone microphones and laptops.

Yes, I am starting a new phase. While school is winding down, it's kind of hard to decide what to do next- take a break, attend school some more right away, go into the workforce, etc. Well, thanks for the advice! :-D
