Last night I dyed my hair, which turned out ok, even though I didn't do as clean a job with my hairline as I would have liked.  I was worried it was a bit orange for my taste, but I think it'll be fine.  I had to pick up some nail polish today though, to mask the dye that got under my finger nails.  So, purple nails and red hair.  Interesting combo ( Read more... )

I clicked on the website and found a Greggs I'd not been too in Sheffield. WTF?

Look forward to hearing about the Irn Bru - am surprised Janet didn't make you drink some - she loves the stuff...

Friday sounds cool; you're talking to the right person there :-)

Not entirely sure of your address (I've made an educated guess), but how's about trying a bus trip from the City Centre on the 23 along Sauchiehall Street, past the Kelvin Hall/ Museum, up Byres Road to Maryhill Road, then change onto a 40/61 back into the city centre? Would give a "round trip" around your side of town?

(the 23 is the jade coloured one on the map - http://www.firstgroup.com/ukbus/scotland/swscot/map/Glasgow_Network_Map.pdf )

My Best Man used to live on Raeberry Street (just to the south), handy for Kelvinbridge Underground station (hence this picture - http://www.flickr.com/photos/92328344@N00/193651864/)

The 23 is a bit of a "magical mystery tour", but a good way of seeing Byers Road etc from the comfort of a bus (rather than walking miles and miles), and the Kelvin Hall area is well worth a look if you've not yet seen (there's a Deacon Blue line "one day I can see us walking, arm in arm in sheltered Kelvin Way" which is a personal favourite...)

The trains around Glasgow are probably the best of anywhere in the UK outside London, there are a few nice trips to take out of Glasgow on them, e.g. get the train to Balloch to see Loch Lomond from the south end, take the train to Lanark to see the industrial village of New Lanark (Robert Owen), take the train to Largs and go walking on the beach... so many days out - I envy you!
