(no subject)
Last night I dyed my hair, which turned out ok, even though I didn't do as clean a job with my hairline as I would have liked. I was worried it was a bit orange for my taste, but I think it'll be fine. I had to pick up some nail polish today though, to mask the dye that got under my finger nails. So, purple nails and red hair. Interesting combo...
I also read the last 2 Scott Pilgrim books, and was determined to see the movie today. There was a 1pm showing, and it just seems so decadent to go to a matinee on a Monday that I had to do it. I'm not so sure it was the best idea to see it so soon after finishing the books, as of course it couldn't be totally faithful to them, but I thought they did a good job and it stood on its own. I do keep having Plumtree pop into my head now though...
Then I had the very hard choice of what to eat for lunch. Ok, it was 3pm, but still, lunch. I had tried Pret the other day, and it was pretty good. Liked that it was fresh and fairly locally sourced. In the US I can't imagine having a sandwich where 90-100% of the ingredients weren't flown in from somewhere. But I wanted to try something else.
So after years of hearing thebustocrookes talk about Greggs, I finally tried it myself! Had a cheese & onion pasty and it was good! Hooray for nommy cheap eats. I'll have to go back and get more adventuresome another time. Some of the other baked goods looks yummy too.
I decided to sit outside on a bench to eat it. There was a little band set up on the street, who were pretty decent. A three-piece no less! There seem to be a lot of street musicians on Sauchiehall and Buchanan. Anyways, as I was eating they started into some Radiohead. It made me realize that I haven't listened to music in almost 2 weeks! I'm a bit itching to, but it feels odd to listen to music in a hotel room. I'm not sure why though...
Tomorrow, I want to get a day bus ticket and ride about the lines I'm on a bit. See what's a couple stops up in each direction. And drink an Irn Bru. That's tomorrow's challenge for me! And on Friday miss_steffs is going to show me some of the better bars in Glasgow, woo! :) So lots to look forward to this week!
