Since a lot of people are replying to the last post (which really has nothing to do with downtime), I thought I should at least give us a place to officially panic and share news ( Read more... )

It's working for a few people but still down for others.

Such panic when an archive goes down for even a day.
But it says that we readers really do care.

Yes, their registration expired.

For a while, at least, they're the only folks who can claim the name, so it won't be stolen out from under them if they can re-register quickly.

So, does this mean that the site will be back or don't they want it and it is down for good?

yeah -- i PM'd her, and basically said that i was pretty sure that if it's finance-related the harrydraco comm by itself could probably rumble up the funds not only to purchase 3 domain names for the next year (if skyehawke also owns .org and .net -- a lot of websites buy up every variation of their names) but to fund server costs for a bit as well. because judging from the reaction over there, people are pretty anxious to get it up, and would be willing to pitch in.

It's a perfect storm of errors!

Glad to know the outage isn't due to serious misfortune. Thank you for all you do to keep the site wonderful!
