Greetings! Last edit! Huge thanks to the
tienriu, mod(s) and SO's of skyhawke.com, songquake for her research, vamp ress for her calming allowance & understanding of panic, and everyone @ harrydraco and elsewhere who got involved & active. The fic is back, baby:>:> Life is all good now and we should have a party! See message from tienriu under cut in re 'what really happened':
Re: Skyhawke.com down-did you know?

tienriuHi Tiger
Apologies for the lag in response - I'm afraid that skyehawke went down while Australia was fast asleep. I got all the emails this morning (slightly too late to stop the panic unfortunately).
Thank you for your (and the users of harrydraco) help bringing this to the moderators attention. Without alerts from users it's unlikely I'd have been aware that the site was completely down till midday (Australian time).
There'll be an explanation posted to the archive and the LJ comm about this, and I'll try to personally respond to all emails (though it might take a while) but for your (and the users of the harrydraco comm) reference, I thought you might like to know what happened.
This is a domain registration issue - normally the domain is automatically renewed (generally for several years at a time). Unfortunately this year, the bank panicked over an 'odd' charge coming through and blocked the payment. They sent a letter informing me of this (which is normal) - but unfortunately, snail mail being what it is, that letter is probably waiting in my letter box or still on its way to me.
In the meantime, the domain registrar's automatic email telling me they couldn't pay for the domain renewal bounced straight into spam.
I'm setting up payment now and hopefully the site will be back up and running soon (unfortunately I can't tell when as this involves DNS servers repointing which generally can take anywhere between 12 - 48 hours).
cheers
TR
Hullo. Skyhawke.com archives seems to be down, as in ex, vanished, gone, deceased. Does anyone know anything about that? I was just there yesterday and it was fine! Wah!
Edit: I've messaged the mods on lj skyhawke and one of the original '19' who seems to active and also attempted a twitter of sorts to fanfictionnews and alerted whoever I can think of who might care. Generally created a minor ruckus, me. If anyone has strings available, may want to pull 'em, 'cause it's still nixie 'crost most of the world as of 7:36 EST US. If you've any good ideas I can apply, bring them. I can't exist peacefully w/o skyhawke (wah!). Also, you are all fantastic, chipping in with info/reports. I do so adore this comm:>
Further edit (I feel like a Gotham reporter!): see cut for response from a skyhawker.
Re: Skyhawke.com down-did you know?
from
vamp_ressNope, can't help you either. The domain is down for me as well:( I'll make a post on the Skyehawke comm about it - because I'm really the wrong person to address with this problem. But I think we all need a place to panic at the moment!

Edit 3:26 PM EST This could be a domain name issue, according to one very helpful person, and Australia seems to be having additional problems of its own, what with popups and such and looming censorship (a protest of worldwide proportions might help there-I'm in:>) From all reports, access is spotty geographically, can differ by device and as for me, I still don't got it. If you can get to the site, let them know there's a problem, please, and its still ongoing. Thanks very much & have a good one:>
