I just finished watching RENT for the third time since I go the DVD, and I've finally stopped crying at Angel's funeral. Instead I just tear up and then sob druing the finale. My head is so messed up sometimes

I'm more of a man than you'll ever be, and more of a woman than you'll ever get.
I didn't cry nearly as much the third time that I watched it (Thursday night), but I did cry. I still *choked* up during Without You, at the same place that most people do, I suppose: the first time that they show the Life Support meeting, when people start to disappear. The first time that I saw it, I gasped when they showed the meeting, before anyone disappeared, because, whether I've seen enough movies or had just figured it out in my head, I *knew* that people would start to fade out of the image.
And then they did.
And I wish that RENT had shown off Idina Menzel's voice more. She is infinitely better in WICKED. *dies* But Mimi's voice, in RENT, basically owns the universe.

I know. I couldn't even tell they were the same person (Elphie and Maureen) by listening to the soundtracks seperatly. She showed off her voice much better in Wicked. But I still loved her in RENT. And Mimi was fabulous.
And I mean, I didn't even start watching the movie till it came out on DVD. Until then, all my obsessionw as due to reading the script and listening to the soundtrack (during which I cried, of course). It bothered me that they left out half a song and an entire song and some pretty good lines during the cemetary scene. Of course, I'm an obsessionist.
The line that kills me, every time, is Maureen saying "You always said how lucky we all were to be friends...but it was us, baby, we were the lucky ones." I want someone to say that at my funeral, it just makes me start crying.
I finally saw RENT, it was great!!! J'adore Rent. (Though I've only watched it once just hours ago) It took me forever to figure out what Angel's gender was because...I'm clueless as you know, but I was really close to crying at the funeral.
