[If you're around House 6 early this evening, you'll probably be able to hear this song. Yes, Bink's Sake again - he's in a nostalgic mood. The weather's a bit nicer today, so he's playing outside by the mikan tree. Which reminds him that Nami never did get her mikan - it's been a few weeks now, right? He'll pick one for her just in case and go ( Read more... )

That all depends on what you'd consider an animal.

[An image of Sonic and the other Freedom Fighters appears, followed by another image including his old dog, Muttski.]

I suppose that varies - my crew's doctor is a reindeer, but I still consider him a person.

Yeah, that's just it. Just 'cause somethin' ain't human doesn't mean they aren't a person.

((-missing what's changed-)) I couldn't agree with you more!

Do you come from a world without humans then, Sonic-san?

Well, we have many of the same animals here - although they don't talk.

Oh! And we sometimes keep them as pets. I have a pet piglet! And some people keep chickens, but that's more for food than as pets.

Ah, a piglet! I must admit it has been some time since I've seen one of those. What's it name, if I might ask?

His name is Saizou. He's really quite cute, even if he tends to be on the fiesty side.

Yohohoho! Sometimes they can have such personalities of their own, neh?

[Scribbled on the journal is a fair approximation of one of these]

These are turtle ducks.

I beg your pardon - turtle ((Ah, they're so cute!)) ducks?

[She nods.] They were mostly found in the Fire Nation, but there were some in the Earth Kingdom too.

I've never heard of anything like them. What an interesting animal!

[Miyabi had fallen asleep while she was painting, her journal open just in case. For now, her thoughts were void, but once the music of her friend's violin reaches her, images begin to laces through her thoughts, like a painter spreading his or her ink on a blank piece of parchment.

The first image is of her home, with her friends laughing and smiling and waving at her. That fades into an image of her teacher, patting her head and holding up a painting their drew together.

And finally...the last image is fuzzy, and dark. Two people looking down at something. Something small. One is a woman, definitely. And her face is completely blurred, but her smile remains on her face - bright as the shining sun - as she mouths something to the man beside her. They both smile now, and continue looking down, until a very small hand reaches up and--]

Mmh...a lullaby?

[Gone. The images were gone, as the little painter began to wake up, rubbing the sleep and tears from her eyes.]

[Brook's tried to mind his business when it comes to people's thoughts, but it's more difficult when it comes to images. He can't help but be curious, after all.]

It's more of an old pirate tune, really, but I find it makes an excellent substitute for a lullaby as well. Did I wake you, Miyabi-san?

[Voice] - actually now I have to sleep, haha. |Da chiisaichou April 27 2010, 04:29:13 UTC
[Curiosity of the unknown is a natural thing, and Miyabi wouldn't blame him for it. The first two images were things she would have talked about anyway, her home and teacher. The other...she still wouldn't get too upset, just a little quieter. Miyabi's still a little groggy as she yawns.]

Mm, no... It was beautiful, like always. [I still can't remember their faces.]

I'm glad you enjoyed it! I was in a nostalgic mood today.

How have you been, as of late?

There are plenty of monsters in my world...

[See images of bears (and cubs with egg shells as diapers), killer beds, very tall thin humanoid creatures...]

[And then see images of the Oresoren.]

(But the Oresoren aren't monsters or animals...)
