Great trip (with noodles!)

It was more than a week ago now, but I still haven't completely unpacked all my shit from our three days in Minneapolis with my parents.  I'm a slob, I know.  There's a suitcase still half-filled with clutter sitting up in the hall and a couple of shop bags are still floating around the dinner table.  Amazing what I can't be bothered with, isn't it ( Read more... )

We have a restaurant here called Soup Pierre that served the most awesome roasted red pepper soup with cheese tortellini - and they closed!

I would LOVE to spend time in a huge, honking mall like that. The one in Edmonton is supposed to be pretty spectacular, too.

I first heard about the West Edmonton Mall by reading a Marvel comic book featuring the all-Canadian superhero team ALPHA FLIGHT. They had a big fight with members of thier arch-nemesis team, Omega Flight (clever!) right there by the log flume ride. I've always wanted to go check the place out ever since.

Mall of America has a log flume ride, but there isn't room next to it to kick an invalid, much less have a costumed battle.
