It's been almost four years here. It was on the 27th of July 2004 that I put my first ever post on LJ, moving it from my earlier blog which was on blogger. It was the network effect at work - a large number of my friends were on LJ, and with its "community feel", friends lists,  threaded comments, etc. LJ was really comfortable.

You can still write a small heading and give a link to your web site every time you write a blog in your own space. That way you will still be in LJ where as your blogs will be on your own web site...

please do what sandy_tr says...as I do have many friends on blogger and wordpress and etcetera, but I hardly open up Google reader to ever actually visit their blogs..and LJ is a daily habit and I have enjoyed reading your stuff, whether or not I agree with you, Mr SKTW!

generally - LJ is too "closed"; not googlable enough; doesn't allow me to install stuff like say ads or stats and all that; or import feeds from my shared google reader and twitter and show it on the homepage. managing comments is tough here . etc. etc
