I made the first item last week, which was a two-tier box from cardboard and pretty Japanese paper for arachne, and it looks like this:

It's from a kit I bought at the Japan Centre, but I expect I'll make more as soon as pretty Japanese papers arrive.

As above, it's from a kit, and really not hard at all. Well, precise cutting and gluing are required, but that's about all.
