* Question - is there any sort of Bandslash remix challenge? If not, is there any interest in one? I've only participated in one for SGA before

I would totally do a bandslash remix thingy. What, can I ask, is a remix? No clue. But I'm totally in.
WHICH REMINDS ME, I totally need your help, I accidentally signed up for this fic exchange THING when I've never DONE it before and I got this request that is so so so out of my naturally angsty, dramatic league that for a month, I've been staring at it in morbid fascination, and it's got to be Draco/Ron (I KNOW, HP, what was I thinking, I haven't written that in years) and a 'portrait of domesticity'. Like, with teaa kettles and cookies and, and, reading the newspapers on Sundays, that's what they mean, right, where's the plot in that?! Seriously, I have anxiety over this, I can't do domestic, where no one's in danger of death.
It's when you take someone else's fic and spin it. Like, you can write a missing scene or you can rewrite the story from a different POV or pick up on something small in the fic and expand it - it's fun, but really challenging. The hard part for me is letting someone else rum rampant over my work! But you can list the stories that you don't want touched, and any unfinished series are off the table, too, because you don't want to step on anyone's toes!
Oh man, HP?! Okay, so how long does it have to be? Because you don't really need a plot, you can just have Draco/Ron bickering and maybe some sort of pet that hates Ron but loves Draco or Draco trying to do the laundry or Ron hiding from Ginny under the bed or, um, uncomfortable tea shenanigans with Hermione Granger. You know, I haven't read the last book yet? I have it in my closet, and I have avoided all spoilers, but I have no desire to read it. Weird.
I don't have dentist fear (I've been very lucky with my dentists) but I think the fear is a combination of extreme powerlessness and guilt. You're prone, on your back while people loom over you, and those chairs aren't as easy to roll off of as a hospital bed, and you just have to lie there and take it.
The guilt is because you always kind of know that any filling you get you could have stopped, but all those times you didn't floss, or you ran out of toothpaste or didn't brush as well as you should? And the dentists knows, the dentist sees every cavity and knows that it's because you didn't take care of your teeth properly.
And there is the patient, impotent and ashamed, while the dentist leans over and says, "Now we're just going to see if the numbness has set in."
*laughs* Well, J specifically says he has sensitive teeth, and even the thing that squirts air hurts him. I don't think he's lying exactly but I think he's exaggerating a little :)
Hello! How have you been? :) Ugh...I hate writer's block *kicks it* Aw, that sucks...I'm scared of the dentist too and I try to avoid it when I can. I hope he feels better, have a good lunch <3
I felt the same way about Sandstorm. I heard her talking about it way before I gave in and tried it, because I was always certain it wouldn't be my speed. Then I loved it, of course.
I finished Sandstorm! And I started Kidnapped, but... I actually did not get sucked in and my interest is waning. I think I'll try one of her others instead.
