I have to tell someone.

I want everyone to know that I just did two days of work as an extra in a 1977 riot scene on the unbelievable set of The Watchmen. I am in geek heaven. I am simply elated. It was a dream come true. For a moment there, I thought you were talking about the fact the movie was MADE in 1977.

Movie extraing is fun, I've done lots. I've even done a facebook quiz about it..

Yeah. I used to be an actor. I've done some of this stuff (a loooong time ago. See here and here.) but the main point is that I worked on the freaking Watchmen. The fact that it's being filmed here in Vancouver, that I moved back from Scotland to live here while that happened, and that I know a guy who runs an extras company that lives down the hall and didn't mind setting me up, it all smacks of the kind of synchronicity that people talk about when they mention a belief in a higher power. I'm thrilled to the point of elation.

You don't know me, but someone linked me to your journal - and I just wanted to say that that's so freaking cool, that you even got to be an extra! I'm very excited to see how they portray the original graphic novel in this movie. :)

Well, being a huge fan of the graphic novel, I can say that they are bringing it to life perfectly. I have no idea how they're going to work the story or edit it together but as for the bare bones *look* of the thing, after standing underneath a perfect Owlship and seeing the Comedian look like he just stepped off of the page, I can safely say that they've nailed it.

Well my fingers are still crossed but I'm looking forward to it now instead of dreading it. It's going to awesome.
