As opposed to last night, when exactly at 10 pm one of my neighbors decided to start blasting hiphop on his sound system. Honestly, I do not find frequent repetition of the "mf" word restful one little bit. After five separate people came knocking on his door, the neighbor finally caught a clue and turned it down. Gah, the last year of my journal is basically full of me whining about my asshole hip-hop loving neighbour.

It totally sucks to have a neighbour like that.

There's a drunken lout on the other side of my building who has a lot of company over every weekend. He's got two strikes, the third he will be asked to move. You know, on Spinal Tap, when the amp/speaker could go to 11? He's got that up there. Plus a subwoofer that generates frequencies so low only animals can hear them.
Your landlord has a noise after (specified time) policy, right?

Yes, but they are never in on weekends. Which is why all the maintenance and noise issues come up then.

I had a stupid *#^%$# who lived above me who liked to listen to (c)rap at 2.30 in the morning. Loudly.

I got revenge by letting him have a bagpipe and drum corps recording at 4.30 in the morning ... he never played his music loud at night again. :)

I don't find anything repeated at that noise level and hour to be restful. And if you can tell exactly what's being said, it's too loud.

(I have neighbors like that, but they do it in Cantonese.)

Just kidding...aren't you glad we don't have to be so uptight around here?? Sometimes I feel very restrained over at TWoP. Ah well. I guess for all the good you have to take a little bad.

Hope your night is more restful than this one. I had to buy those garage-door opener anti-vibration lightbulbs at my old house thanks to the invention of the vehicular subwoofer.
