Has anybody tried a skincare brush?

Ok, so my roommate bought this crazy contraption and I'm wondering if anybody else has tried it before? It's called a skin brush. I read up on it, and it is a hand-held electronic brush used on the face to deep clean, loosen dirt and oil and exfoliate those dry, dead skin cells. As a bonus, it also eliminates toxins and stimulates blood flow. Crazy ( Read more... )

I use one but I only like it on the broader surfaces like the cheeks and forehead. On smaller areas like your nose and chin, I dont think it does a really good job. For the smaller areas like the nose and chin, I like using an electric toothbrush. Actually, I use that more than a regular face brush just because it exfoliates a lot more evenly in my opinion.

But then again, yours is electric too. Overall, I just think its less effective on the smaller areas.

I honestly think it works as well if not better. The only thing is, it tends to be a little bit harsher than one that is made for the face. But that could just be because I bought a spinbrush pro whitening version. If you get a cheapie, it would probably be best.

we used them at the spa i worked at. it's just a fancy way to exfoliate...nothing you cant do with a little facial brush from walmart.

I use(d) the $5 one from Sephora just to test out the whole skincare brush idea. I like it for the overly oily parts of my face (around my chin and T-zone), but on the rest of my face it tended to be counter-productive (caused little bumps and redness, no matter how gentle I was). Now I use it about 1-2x a week, and it helps keep my skin in check.

(Great journal, btw =)

Yeah, its really not good to go overboard with the exfoliating. Totally counter-productive. I'm not sure my skin is tough enough for daily use of a brush like this!
