Give Peace A Chance...

So the plan for this weekend was to relax, tidy up the house and yard, catch up on sleep, and head out to the lake for a day. Unfortunately, some asshole decided that those plans didn't need to happen ( Read more... )

YIKES! Your poor brother, that's terrible. :( I hope he has a speedy recovery. That is QUITE the encounter. I've never understood how people can be so impulsive. The guy who assaulted him should definitely be getting some jail time. >:/

Being an avid Stephen King fan, I coulda told you that Salem's Lot (the movie) was a waste of time. If you haven't already seen them I recommend these movies:

The Stand *
It *
Firestarter
Christine
Stand By Me *
Misery
The Shawshank Redemption *
Dolores Claiborne
The Shining
The Green Mile
The Mist *

The starred ones are "must sees". ;)

I really hope this dude gets some sort of jail time. I wish I could say it was impulsive, but the guy had some extent of it at least premeditated. He made a comment to my brother's friend on Wednesday that my brother "better watch his back 'cause I'm going to get him this weekend." He allegedly is also not known to walk around with a knife (he's not a hunter up north) so he had a few days to think about his plan and, sadly, decided to act on it.

I've seen most of those movies. I don't think I've seen Christine or It in their entirety and haven't seen Firestarter. The Shining is one of my all time faves and I also really like Dolores Claiborne. Booooooo to Salem's Lot!

It is one of my all time faves!!! Firestarter is pretty good, and has a cute young Drew Barrymore playing the main character "Charlie". The book is even better, naturally.
