[Near the shore line of the beach, a rather short teenager is reclining against a palm tree with his right foot buried in the sand. His cheeks are starting to redden with a sunburn.
As usual, he can sleep just about anywhere. He has an open book near one hand and a split coconut cradled in the other.]

He has the uncomfortable feeling of being watched, but it doesn't seem like the thing approaching is necessarily dangerous. Ed opens an eye cautiously, noticing it's just a teenage kid, one that seems even more wary than he is.

But what's this?! A person asleep under a tree! He screams 'pesterme'! She scurries over, then blinks. He looks a lot like that adorable little guys friend. She kneels, then reaches to roughly shake his shoulder.]

[He looks at the hand on his shoulder - thankfully, his flesh shoulder - and traces it back to the girl who was staring at him like he was a puppy.]
