Here's a reply to that from Facebook that actually had me laughing even harder:
Um...I kinda did this actually.
I used to work as a veterinary technician where we had a deal with a local bunny rescue organization. The veterinarian gave them discounted spays and neuters and I assisted in the surgery. What sucks about bunny surgery is that you can't knock them out all the way or they will die, so you put them in "twilight." With every incision they made little squealing noises...it's the saddest sound in the world.
I was never there for any time when a bunny was already pregnant during her spay, but in most cases they wouldn't cancel the operation for something like that. We did it with cats FREQUENTLY. Kitten abortions. In the end, it saves them from a life on the streets or being euthanized in a shelter. Even though it seems sick (and I even worked with a veterinarian once who refused to perform them), it technically is the right thing to do.
The fetuses were fascinating to examine afterwards though.
