After a very frustrating conversation in front of the Perk, Inara had run the rest of her errands and decided to drop by Gavin's room with her purchases. Due to her continued annoyance, her knock was firmer than usual.

After telling Corran to shut up again, Gavin went to pull open the door, surprised to find that Inara was the one with the loud knock.

"Here," she shoved the food and drink at Gavin, because that was what she had been planning to do, damn it, and no fei fei de piyan* was going to change that. Then she turned on her heel and prepared to stalk off.

That...wasn't expected. For a moment, he just stood still, staring at the things in his hands before he shook his head and scrambled to get in front of her.
