Stephen Foster was born in Pittsburgh in 1826 and died in New York City in 1864. From 1846-1850 he lived in Cincinnati, Ohio near the river. He was there working for his brother Dunning Foster. You may know Stephen as the composer of "My Old Kentucky Home", "Old Folks at Home" (aka "Swanee River"), "Oh Susannah", "Camptown Races", etc etc. I'm
