Anakin was standing on a chair in the middle of the room trying to attach what looked like a very complicated disco ball to the ceiling.

He was very interruptable.

Katara rapped gently on the door frame and hoped that she didn't accidentally startle her teacher and cause him to fall down and break his neck.

Anakin turned around and gave Katara a small smile. "Come in," he said. "I was just finishing up a project."

He gave the ball a steady look, then flicked it to life.

Millions of points of light in varying shades spun in the room.

Anakin gave a satisfied nod.

She looked up in wonder. "Oh! That's beautiful."

Anakin, in the center of the galaxy, gave her another smile. "It's home," he said.

Well, technically two small yellow lights in the back corner of the room represented home.

He walked over to his desk, stopping only for a heartbeat to look at a small blue star right by his chair, and waved Katara to a chair. "How are you doing this week?" he asked.

Rose looked in and smiled. She leaned on the door jamb, crossed her arms and said, "So, you startin' a dance club in your office?"

Anakin smiled back. "Not exactly."

He stopped tweaking some of the parts and flipped the machine on. Tens of thousands of points of light scattered through the room.

"It's my home galaxy," he explained.

"Oh." All the jokes Rose formulated fell unsaid when she saw the holographic representation. It was... it was almost as good as being back there again. She approached one star system as if to touch it.

Awe. Wonder and and an almost supplication was written across Rose's face.

"Hoth system," Anakin said with a nod at the star almost in her hand. "Totally skippable."

He shrugged. "I had a bit of time on my hands."

Rory tapped on the door after she closed the library, holding two cups. The bruises she had sported on Tuesday were now turning some lovely shades of yellow and green and pink along the edges of the purple, which Rory figured was a good thing. Hopefully."

Anakin turned immediately to face her, his expression switching to a worried one Rory would recognize.

"Hi," he said, trying to smile.

"I look like crap because I'm healing," she immediately said. "Are you going to be getting a leisure suit and cranking Donna Summers in here?"

"No," Anakin said, flipping the lights off and turning his shiny new toy on. "I finished my project."

The star that light up directly in front of her was the one she'd given him all those years ago.

He didn't mention it.

Alanna knocked on the door, shifting Faithful in her arms.

Anakin turned and smiled at Alanna. "Hi, stranger," he said, stepping down off of the stool.

No nervous look towards Faithful. Nope. Move along.

Faithful? Was fascinated by the clasp on Alanna's bag. "Hey there. So I'm guessing the rumors of your death were highly exaggerated?" Alanna asked with a grin.

"Something like that," Anakin said with a grin, moving over to his desk. "You were a...statue?"

After leaving 238, Aeryn heads to Anakin's office, hoping he'll be there. She lucks out, and knocks on the door.

Anakin looked up, his face flashing through a dozen different emotions before settling on a carefully neutral one.

"Hello."

And now that she's here, she's not even sure what to say. "Where should I start?" she asks, since Anakin's probably got some questions. Or a thousand.

Anakin walked closer and stared down into her eyes.

"Tell me he didn't hurt you, too, and we'll work our way from there."
