"I didn't want to wait," he whispered as he pulled back.
He took a moment to compose himself again, his eyes never leaving her face. "I was taught by a very wise man that even stars burn out, that nothing is permanent. He was wrong. What we have lasted through years of separation, a galaxy of distance, and more heartache than I should have ever put you through."
He swallowed hard. "You teach me about faith. You remind me that there is hope. You make me a better person because I want to live up to how you see me. I loved you when I was seventeen, I love you now, and I'll love you fifty, seventy, and a hundred years from now. You're the half of me I didn't know I was missing until I found you again."
His voice went a little unsteady, but his eyes showed no uncertainty. "So I choose you, Lorelai Leigh, to be my wife. I am yours from this day forward, through good and bad, through sickness and health, through laughter and tears. I will love and cherish you all the days of our lives."
And I will let you go when I have to, he murmured

Lorelai was not crying. At all. There was just something in her eye. A very big something that she had to flush out and look her baby was getting married, okay? It was totally allowed. It was her right, even, thank you.

"Give 'er another one!" Miss Patty cheered at the kiss. There might possibly have been tears in her eyes as she leaned over to whisper to her neighbor "he's even cuter than my third husband."

Taylor made a special note to himself. "Name these two Ice Cream King and Queen," he said as he wrote it down. This was his way of appreciating the beauty of the moment.
