Most new born kitten don't look a great deal like cats, and don't often have a lot of hair. The eye, of course doesn't look right; but that could be part of the deformity. New born kittens have their eyes closed, but again, since the eyed didn't form properly, there may not have been a proper eyelid to be closed.
My verdict: highly likely to be real..... Although, also just as likely to be fake.
