I like some of Taylor's music, but I can't help but feel she's a sell-out. Making clothing specifically to sell to CHINA? Yes, China. The same country that is hacking our national databases and promoting corporate espionage. Not to mention their constant presence in everything we own. Sure, a lot of that falls back on our electeds and laws passed, but I'm upset that T has decided to avoid her USA fanbase with this clothing line. As far as the Minaj stuff goes, I think NM is talentless, so no big deal.
Oh yeah, compared to my main guy Neil Young, Taylor's a complete sellout and has been since being a "spokesmodel" for l.e.i. jeans while promoting her first album. Sponsors of the current tour include Subway, Keds, Diet Coke.. I don't think she's giving the Chinese product not already available here. The "exclusive" part of that deal is making ONE Chinese distributor a -legal- outlet for products that already being counterfeited over there.. see if Chinese Swifties will get behind the brand and eschew cheaper copies. The "product endorsement" heading on Taylor's Wiki page lists about 20 commercial ventures for everyone from the Nashville Predators to Target.. with stops along the way for four fragrances and Cover Girl. Instead of "selling out," they call it "branding." I'm sure there's a difference besides the spelling. -km-
