[And you are most unlucky that she's taken to walking around Mayfield at least twice a day... And pretty much has to pass the park for the libary. She'll pause upon seeing the man.]

...Sirius?

[siriuslyadog]

He doesn't seam to hear her, from his position a few yards away. He's turned sideways, legs crossed along the bench seat and one arm propped up along the backing, supporting his head. He looks very much like the brooding man he's always been, so it shouldn't really bother her to come over.

[Hermione frowned, brows furrowing slightly at the lack of response. She could think of numerous reasons for him to be brooding, but held her tongue for the moment. And she ruled out the possibility of Mayfield itself doing something. Aha, just a second longer before the slowly approached the bench. Trying again!]

Sirius?

[siriuslyadog]

He looked up, almost startled, and gave her a little smile. Of course he's going to ignore being caught in this state, trying to sort it all out.

"Hermione. Enjoying the weather?" Ah, yes. It's small-talk, in that 'I'm such an adult' fashion.

[hontobakabaka]

[Ruri stands there, watching Sirus pace in the lawn quietly, after almost a half an hour.]

"....Hello."

He nearly jumps out of his skin, and he stares at her with a rather affronted expression.

"How long have you been standing there?" Almost suspiciously.

[hontobakabaka]

"Twenty eight minutes and thirty seven seconds."

[siriuslyadog]

He couldn't hold back an incredulous chuckle.

"...Right. Of course. Sounds about right. Let me try again. Why are you standing there?"

[flameyedhunter]

[A small girl in clothes too large for her, mostly just a huge mop of black hair watches Sirius in silence. She was building another snow crimson lord, but is now distracted by his broodiness. This is HER broody spot.]

He practically felt that stare, and turned to find the owner of it. He gave an annoyed, questioning little shrug, and as though reading her mind, said, "What? A man can't daydream in public anymore?"

[flameyedhunter]

[she opens her mouth, as if to respond sharply, then shakes her head, and says.]

"No, I... mou." [she kicks a bit of snow]

"I take it this town has hurt you as well?"

He feels a bit guilty for snapping at her, after all, she hasn't said anything rude. No crime in staring at a stranger in the park.

"No more than I've heart myself. Matter of fact, it seems like it's done me a favor. I was dead before I came here, you know? And so was my best friend."

[Catches the guy pacing.]

"You know that sort of thing only works in cartoons right?"

The voice caused him to stop rather abruptly, and he turned to this guy he didn't know.

"Seems to be working rather well at the moment, thanks."

Yeah, you come up with a plan?

[siriuslyadog]

"I haven't got a plan. I don't need a plan. I need something to focus on, and wearing a hole in my grass is a good start."

He, too, had been aimlessly wandering when he'd settled on the bench. They were alike in more ways than just their coping methods.

He actually, genuinely smiled when he saw his Godson headed his way.

"Harry! No, no, nothing happened. Just... enjoying the sky."

[siriuslyadog]

He's actually a bit taken aback by the assertiveness in Harry that he doesn't really remember, especially directed at him. He eyes his godson warily.

"Not as good as I used to be, anyway, it seems."
