Looking for fic readers

Aug 01, 2008 13:41

We all love Snape/Black fanfiction.  Your organizers would like to share in that love by having a few stories - or just some juicy excerpts - read aloud at the meetup.  So, as previously mentioned, we're looking for anyone willing to read their own or someone else's fic.

Here's how it works )

Can I put myself down in the "Sure, I'd love to read something aloud, but what would people like best to hear?" category?

you certainly can... except i think i think it might be a little late to have an online vote. what about this: print out a couple options to bring with you, and we can take a vote on the spot?

basically, just make sure it's snape/black. platonic/antagonistic stuff with no explicit slash is fine, too -- just so long as it's possible to read at least a slight bit of slashiness (ust, whathaveyou) into the story.

and if it's not your own fic, just poke the person to let them know you might be reading it at a meetup. so it's all nice and cordial-like.

personally, i really like "blood for a parched tongue" of yours -- which your icon so aptly reminds me of.

as far as other people's... Cluegirl's "morte o merce" is rather good, and Not Exactly Dickens's "the miseducation of severus snape." or, just about anything by FabulaRasa... although, my own favorites of hers are "rat's alley," "stone cold sober," and "eight times."

--ooh! also, Annalore (m_annalore, if you don't know her) has a little known but beautifully written story which was partly a giftfic for me: "a posteriori." which i for one would love to hear read aloud.

er... that was probably more options than you were aiming for. but, uh. if you like any of those suggestions... feel free to go with whichever ones most appeal to you. and let me know if you need any help finding the links!

Hmm, I could try to work with that! Though...I know me, I'm probably not going to have something all printed out and carried with me. I'll be all insecure about looking too prepared and therefore too eager. Don't ask, it's weird of me, I know.

Any possibility we'll have access to a computer/laptop/wireless at the venue?
