Call for participation
With Terminus right around the corner, we're looking for anyone who'd be willing to lend a hand and help make our first Snape/Black meetup a great one! Here are a few things you can do to participate:
1. Volunteer to read your own or someone else's fic. More details are found in this post, but basically, what we'd like is to share some yummy Snape/Black stories, whether old or new, with the rest of the group by having them read aloud. The goal is to allow for some of the naughtier stuff that can't be read at Authors and Artists Night - but non-smut is welcome as well.
2. Donate raffle prizes and/or goodie bag stuffers. Got anything that would make a good addition to our goodie bags (pins, stickers, candy, etc.)? Or maybe something bigger, that might make a good prize for the raffle (books, crafts, posters, etc.)? Donate it! The organizers and your fellow attendees will thank you.
3. Write fic/draw art for the goodie bags. If you can draw a few quick doodles, or write a drabble or two, those make great goodie bag stuffers as well. It doesn't have to be anything fancy, and you can write/draw it on an ordinary piece of paper. As long as it's Snape-, Sirius-, or Snape/Black-related, we'd love to have it.
4. If you have bigger artwork or longer fic to donate, those can make great raffle prizes. It doesn't even have to be new; fic and art that has been previously posted online will be accepted as well. The only conditions are: it must be your own work, and it must be the original copy (unless it is a print of a digital artwork). In the case of fic, "original copy" means hand-written.
5. Help stuff goodie bags. This one is pretty self-explanatory. Both of your organizers will be in Chicago since Tuesday, so if you're going to be available to help any time between then and the meetup, just let us know!
6. Donate money for goodie bag stuffers and raffle prizes. Neither of us is making a dime off of this; in fact, we're pretty much paying for it all out of our own pockets. And we're happy to do it! But if you'd like to donate some money, even just a couple bucks, to help finance it all, we'd really appreciate it. <3
7. Pimp this to all your friends. Know someone who would be interested? Or even someone who might be interested? The more the merrier! You can help make this meetup even better by letting your friends know about it and encouraging them to RSVP.
8. Anything else. Uh... basically, if you've got some way to help out that we haven't thought of, comment here and let us know. If you have suggestions of games and other fun things we could do at the meetup, a post for those is here.
