I turn 17 today! :D And I am treating everyone to a story.

Jul 14, 2009 12:22

Well, today, I come of age in the wizarding world. ;) In the world of Harry Potter, I'd be an adult. In real life, I'm stuck somewhere in between. Ah, the joys of turning seventeen.

And so I have a birthday treat - a story for everyone!

Warning: dark subject matter - religious, and possibly could be construed as violence. Pain is certainly involved.

Slightly belated happy birthday!

Interesting. I think I found the third paragraph most so.

The description of that chasm within themselves and what they did to combat it. That was what I found interesting.

*…pokes at things. that she should've written a while ago. Oh, well.*

It was my favourite part, I think. :)

As already said: Happy Birthday! ^^

And agreeing with previous person, that was interesting. Also, loved the duck-patterned umbrella.XD

(Btw I added your hotmail address to my msn contacts, I hope you don't mind? *anxious*)

Thanks! <3

:D I saw a painting by Linnpuzzle, of the two of them at St James Park in the rain, under a duck-pattered umbrella, and it was so gorgeous it really stuck in my head. ;) So I can't take credit for that particular bit. But I'm glad to know it was interesting, at least.

And why would I mind? :D I'd love to be able to chat with you! Dunno about timezones and stuff, though.

^^

Aww, I don't think I've seen that one. It's odd, I've seen so much artwork/graphics using her work, like moodthemes and icons and headers etc, without being able to find the original pic. *woe* She eludes me.XD

Yay! ^^ No, I don't have a clue about that either. But we'll find out. :)

And you likely can't join her comms to see her artwork now since she seems to have disappeared, but I joined back when she was still active and have quite a bit of her stuff saved in my folders. If you like, give me your e-mail in a private message and I'll e-mail them to you. :) She's wonderfully talented.

Happy birthday!

I am amused. To metaphor (if I can use that as a verb), it's like Crowley is waving off a lifetime supply of potato chips and other empty calories and waiting for a proper meal to come along. Not because he knows that dinner will be along eventually, but because he just doesn't want to bother with the chips getting his fingers all greasy.

Your story was much more eloquent and meaningful-sounding than my metaphor (which hopefully makes some sense). XD

I don't think it's a verb but it fits anyway! ;) Hmm. I don't see it like that, but interesting analogy.

To me, Gadre'el Crawly didn't bother with the violence and torture because he's simply not that sort of person. He's not evil in GO and I don't think he ever was.

And aww. Thank you! <3

Well, yeah, he doesn't go in for that sort of thing. Is what I meant. In regards to evil. Although... I feel like if he felt he could get anything at all worthwhile out of it he would give it a try, but since he can see from the examples of the demons around him that he obviously wouldn't, he doesn't. At the same time, he knows from personal experience that trying to be good didn't leave him any better off, so he hangs out in the middle on purpose. In a "Yes I'm on a side, but please don't waste my time with super-earthly politics" sort of way, because, yeah, that's the sort of person he is. [/opinion]

(I don't know if super-earthly is actually a valid term. I'm just making things up tonight. This morning. Whatever. XP)

You are quit welcome. :)

So ... What is he now? What will heaven and hell say about this?!

Not really a demon, certainly not an angel either. He's just Crowley. ;) Crowley and Aziraphale are unique among their kind, I think.
