Job Stuff

Well you know how I was complaining about how bored I was at my job a couple of weeks back. Well that's all about to change. You can do it!

I think you should just make the case for why you can handle the substance of the job and not worry so much about addressing things like non-schmoozing ability. Just state what you see as the primary skill sets needed to handle the job and why you think you have the experience and the willingness to do it. Stress your positives in relation to the job (i.e. organization).

A couple of points you might want to emphasize:

Efficiency and ability to delegate - emphasize that you are able to delegate work and get tasks done no matter what is going on - which will help defuse any discomfort about your schedule.

If they ask about your networking skills - schmoozing - you'll have to make the case that you are able to listen and evaluate, and once you're in a position of leadership, you will be more able to speak up and make connections.

*nods* Yes, what purebloodgryff said! Also, people often forget that schmoozing is a skill that has to be developed just like anything else, and that if asked about it, you can always be willing to learn.
