Wow siriala, that's a lot of bad news to take in all at once. Especially the death of a resident - I'm not sure how closely you interact with the residents but the sensation of loss - when you're used to someone being around and suddenly they aren't - can be hard to take.
Be gentle with yourself this week - do all the work you need to do but don't push your emotions too hard.
Needless to say I'm enjoying the wallpaper - your trademark jewel tones come through beautifully in this one. It's simple, yet effective. :)
My closeness to the residents depends on a lot of things - some persons I see every day, some others I never see, and there's all the world inbetween. This particular resident I didn't see often but he's been here for a very short while after his own father's death and then he had this operation back in October. He had just came back last week from the place where he spent his recovery. Four days after, at work, he dies. We all can't help but think that somehow he couldn't find in him to live after he had lost his parents.
I'm glad you like the wallpaper, it lifts my own mood a bit. Have you worked well at home, is your place ready now ?
It was difficult to take it all in at once but we'll cope, we have to, like everybody does.
I thought you were completely cut from the net. Is this only from certain sites like LJ ? If you do come back for the wall, don't miss the Obi-Wan and Bono goodies on my previous post, you may like them even more ;)
I can get to very basic sites like Yahoo email and Google, but I'm cut off from most everything else. You wouldn't believe what strings of words are picked up as offensive. glasshouseslive kindly pointed me to a site that foofs with URLs. The only bad thing is I can't see images at all.
Man, that's awful. I always hate coming back to work from vacation as well. What a bummer. Just try and look at it this way, it can't get any worse, right?
I certainly hope so ! but my inner pessimist is not so sure about that.
Well, I'll take each day after the other, there's no point in losing time over what's not happened yet. And thanks so much for your nice words ;) *hugs back*
Sorry you came back to such dreadful news! Love the wallpaper. Being a 'whine shoulder' is what friends are for. And I honestly don't think you're whining. Just venting some stress. And that is definitely good to do!
Don't be too kind or I'll let you know, with details, how I came home to find one of my external HDs did not work anymore (and the other two are almost full). I'm sick and tired of it all right now ! I'm sure it's a perfect day for some people in the world, I'll try to focus on that.
Thanks so much for your support, it means a lot to me *hugs*

I can't see the wall because the URL scrambling site I'm on won't let me. Looking forward to it when I get home, though. :D
