I'm going to whine...

but I have a good reason. No, strike that, I have a lot of good reasons !

First morning back at work. I knew I'd have tons of "things to do for last week" waiting for me, it's always like that when I leave for a few days. I'm pretty used to it by now and in a way I prefer having too much work than not enough. I hate being bored, that's probably how I began writing when I was a kid, because it would give me something to do when I was stuck somewhere alone or with annoying people.

Anyway, I had just arrived when my colleague, the accountant, asked to talk to me in private and began to tell me all that had happened last week. The worst is of course the very sudden and "stupid" death of a resident, totally unrelated to the illness he had suffered from for months. I'm almost afraid of coming back from vacation now because it's sadly not the first time it happened. It's a risk when you work with disabled people but you still can't imagine it.

Then I learned that someone had made false checks with the bank account for enormous amounts, that one of the places supposed to host our residents during the August vacation has just closed definitely and so we have to find another place in a hurry for more than 15 persons, that another resident has broken his foot, that another one is in the hospital for a depression...

Well, in a way I can say that I chose the right week to be somewhere else...

Ok, it was good to be able to whine a bit, thanks for listening, I'm now going back to work. For what it's worth, here's a wallpaper to compensate for your loss of time, made with that scrumptious pic of Christian Bale in the poster of Rescue Dawn you saw in my last post.

Or the 1280x960 version.

Hope your day is/will be going better than mine ! I'm now waiting for the big, big party on Friday to really celebrate with all the colleagues and residents and despite everything the 30 years of our Service. Provided nothing goes even wronger till then.
