'Lunch break' was another new, foreign concept Neji couldn't grasp the necessity of, but although he worked in a low stress environment, his coworkers seemed keen on taking advantage of the break to eat and socialize ( ... )

Brooke nearly leaped from his piano chair not having noticed the young man enter his shop since he had been so caught up in his song. A customer had finally arrived! Although without his staff today, he was slightly undermanned, so he did the only thing he could. Brooke grabbed a waiter's apron, a pencil and paper, and dashed over towards his tea area.

"Good evening young man, I am indeed the owner of this establishment and my name as you saw on the sign outside is Brooke. What can I do for you today? We have a fine selection of teas, coffees, and delightful pastries. I'll also take any song requests you like while you are here, since I can play just about anything, and you are our first guest."

Neji blinked, stepping back, the movements rapid as the man's appearance registered- unnerving, strange, and impossible. Veins crept to his eyes on reflex, confirming the skeletal figure, and his mouth set in a firm line. Tense, awkward, he couldn't read the expression, although Brooke's demeanor seemed outwardly pleasant. The moment was broken by the entrance of a young woman, and his nerves settled somewhat.

"...Unfortunately, my knowledge of music is somewhat limited. However, I would be interested in looking over your tea selection."

Brooke smiled, or as much of a smile as you could call it when you have no face. This lad's eyes were a bit strange looking to Brooke, but Brooke wasn't going to comment since he had no eyes at all. The skeleton bard pulled out one of his tea menus and handed it to the young man.

"That's quite alright, if you don't have any requests, then I'll simply play whatever comes to mind. Here is our tea selection good sir, take as much time as you need, and if you would like anything else, just ask."

The menu was also in the finely written calligraphy and it contained almost every single type of tea a human being could want. From Early Grey, to Green tea, to Lipton lemon tea bags, they even had something called Jamaican Blackberry Pine.

She'd promised, and was curious how the new store was faring, so Robin made her way purposefully to the address indicated by her NV. It took her a moment to locate the store- she supposed the information networks hadn't been updated as far as the change in name went. Perhaps she'd inform him of the oversight, there may be official documentation to fill out, after all. Or perhaps a bribe to be made for proper advertisement. In any case, the air was pleasantly aromatic when she stepped through the door. It seemed Brooke was busy with another customer, so she seated herself next to a window and waited quietly.

Brooke caught a glimpse of his quiet companion out of the corner of his eye, and couldn't help but smile. He'd hoped that one of his crew members might stop by to see his new place, and low and behold, it was one of the more charming ones. Brooke politely finished with his current customer and headed towards the window table where Robin was waiting patiently.

"Good evening my dear lady, my name is Brooke and I will be your server today. Our complimentary tea of the day is Earl Grey, and our pastry special is dutch apple pie. You may browse the music store for anything of interest while you wait, and if you have any song requests, just ask our master Bard Brooke. If you would like to chef to make something special, just ask me and I'll go tell him. Now then, what can I do for you today? Would you like to see our pastry menu, our tea menu, or our coffee menu?"

Brooke found it amusing to refer to himself in third person since normally his staff would be saying this but today he was the waiter, musician, and chef.

"You needn't be so formal, Brooke," Robin chuckled. "Coffee, if you don't mind."

Brooke grinned sheepishly having tried to make a good impression of his store. "Would you like me to get you your regular then Robin?" Brooke asked with a bow.

There was no particular reason for Elliot to be out today except maybe for a bit of fresh air. Of course, as he walked, the sound of music definitely reached him, and he was filled with a bit of curiosity. A piano! Though the song was unfamiliar to him, he'd already been stuck in this place far too long without hearing that sound. Because of this, Elliot didn't hesitate to walk into the store and search for the source of the music.

He hadn't actually set foot in many of the stores in this city, though, so when Elliot got inside, he instead found himself... well. Just looking around. This place was surprisingly nice. Hmm.

Brooke had been so caught up in his music that he almost hadn't seen a new customer browsing through his wares. He finished his piece with a shave and a haircut, and walked towards him to see if he could offer any assistance. Naturally, he didn't want to deprive his guests of music, so rather than play the piano which was not mobile, he switched to the violin. The song he was playing this time went like this.

"Yohohoho! See anything that catches your fancy good sir?"

That was an unusual greeting. Then again, Elliot found that there were many things about this city and its people that were a little unusual. He turned when he heard Brooke's voice, but he wasn't quite expecting to see what he saw. A skeleton. With an afro. Playing the violin. It didn't seem like a particularly... malevolent skeleton, but Elliot was still speechless for a moment as he stared at the store's owner.

"Ah..." he started, attempting quickly to get his mind back on track. "N-no, I'm just looking. Was that you playing the piano earlier?"

The skeleton bard should have expected people to be startled by him by now, but he always seemed to want to look over his shoulder to see what frightened them.

"Well yes actually, although the violin may be my forté, I can play any instrument under the sun. You see, the reason I got this musical store is because of my love for music and my desire to share it with the world. Many of the musical pieces in this store I even had a hand at writing, and I also repaired many of these instruments. What of you then? Do you perhaps play an instrument as well?"

It took awhile for Tsubaki to gather enough courage to leave her apartment, and now that she was lost, she certainly was beginning to regret it. She had originally intended to walk around the apartments now that she had daylight to see what she had to run through after her arrival. Somehow, she wandered from one building to the other without realizing it. In the distance, they all looked the same. She even left her NV at home due to it's size and weight, thinking it wouldn't be practical lugging it around when she was only going to step outside for a few minutes. Feeling rather foolish, Tsubaki continued her futile journey back home ( ... )

Brooke heard a familiar voice from the door from where he was playing the piano. It sounded like the young lady who had lost her hand, and Brooke recalled offering her a job at his store. Brooke politely finished his piano piece and headed towards Tsubaki.

"Ah, lady Tsubaki, I'm glad you decided to come to my musical store after all! Did you perhaps come for the position as one of my waitresses? Or perhaps for some tea yourself?" The skeletal bard was smiling warmly at the sight of her and then chuckled slightly, "Or perhaps you simply came to see me in person because you missed me? Yohohoho!"

Oh wow, seeing a skeleton in real life was a lot different than over the video feed. Tsubaki simply stood there staring for a few seconds. Maybe it had been a bad idea to wander into the store (leaving her apartment certainly was), but seeing how friendly Brooke was towards her, she relaxed a little. She took a glance around the store in a nervous manner, her hand covering her mouth as she mumbled.

"Well, I was just lost and..." She finally made eye contact again with Brooke, or at least, what she thought eye contact would be and lowered her hand. She smiled slightly at the idea of tea, he did say before it would be complimentary, and she was running on an empty stomach.

"Actually, some tea sounds wonderful right now."

Brooke was particularly glad to see her since he had been worried whether on not she had found a place to stay alright. When he heard her mention she was lost his worries began to bubble up again, but he simply smiled reassuringly.

"Some tea it is my lady Tsubaki! Yohohoho!" The skeletal bard led her to one of the tea tables with a plate of skull shaped cookies in the center next to a tea pot. The skeleton bard offered her a seat, and then offered her one of his tea menus.

"Now then, we have a lot of different teas you may choose from, our complimentary tea of the day is Earl Grey, and our pastry special is dutch apple pie. On the back of the tea menu you have there is also a map so that you can find my store, and it should also help you find your way home too. Now then, what can I start you off with?" Brooke took out a pencil and a piece of paper to write down her order, waiting patiently for her to choose.
