It took awhile for Tsubaki to gather enough courage to leave her apartment, and now that she was lost, she certainly was beginning to regret it. She had originally intended to walk around the apartments now that she had daylight to see what she had to run through after her arrival. Somehow, she wandered from one building to the other without realizing it. In the distance, they all looked the same. She even left her NV at home due to it's size and weight, thinking it wouldn't be practical lugging it around when she was only going to step outside for a few minutes. Feeling rather foolish, Tsubaki continued her futile journey back home ( ... )

Never fear, Brooke is still here! ... just a little late in replying to you >_> tapdancinskelly July 18 2010, 06:37:25 UTC
Brooke heard a familiar voice from the door from where he was playing the piano. It sounded like the young lady who had lost her hand, and Brooke recalled offering her a job at his store. Brooke politely finished his piano piece and headed towards Tsubaki.

"Ah, lady Tsubaki, I'm glad you decided to come to my musical store after all! Did you perhaps come for the position as one of my waitresses? Or perhaps for some tea yourself?" The skeletal bard was smiling warmly at the sight of her and then chuckled slightly, "Or perhaps you simply came to see me in person because you missed me? Yohohoho!"

Oh wow, seeing a skeleton in real life was a lot different than over the video feed. Tsubaki simply stood there staring for a few seconds. Maybe it had been a bad idea to wander into the store (leaving her apartment certainly was), but seeing how friendly Brooke was towards her, she relaxed a little. She took a glance around the store in a nervous manner, her hand covering her mouth as she mumbled.

"Well, I was just lost and..." She finally made eye contact again with Brooke, or at least, what she thought eye contact would be and lowered her hand. She smiled slightly at the idea of tea, he did say before it would be complimentary, and she was running on an empty stomach.

"Actually, some tea sounds wonderful right now."

Brooke was particularly glad to see her since he had been worried whether on not she had found a place to stay alright. When he heard her mention she was lost his worries began to bubble up again, but he simply smiled reassuringly.

"Some tea it is my lady Tsubaki! Yohohoho!" The skeletal bard led her to one of the tea tables with a plate of skull shaped cookies in the center next to a tea pot. The skeleton bard offered her a seat, and then offered her one of his tea menus.

"Now then, we have a lot of different teas you may choose from, our complimentary tea of the day is Earl Grey, and our pastry special is dutch apple pie. On the back of the tea menu you have there is also a map so that you can find my store, and it should also help you find your way home too. Now then, what can I start you off with?" Brooke took out a pencil and a piece of paper to write down her order, waiting patiently for her to choose.

Sitting down, Tsubaki was a bit confused on what she was supposed to be doing. She had never been to a cafe or anything of the sort before, or if she had, she was so young she couldn't remember. If she had the privilege of watching television back at home, she might have understood the situation better and looked less awkward. But, being as circumstances were, she did her best to look like she knew what she was doing.

"Earl Grey sounds fine." She said, fumbling with the menu before looking up towards Brooke. That pie sounded pretty nice as well. Too bad she had no money. Maybe if she played her cards right, she could get it for free anyway.

"Oh, um...That's it, I think." Tsubaki did her best to sound bashful. "I don't have any money with me right now..."

Brooke merely laughed and said, "Don't worry about it. I did say I would treat you to a complimentary cup of tea if you stopped by didn't I? And if you'll suffer my company, I may even throw in a slice of today's dutch apple pie. Not a bad trade off if you ask me. Besides, if I don't sell enough of the pie it'll simply go to waste, so why not offer some to a friend? Yohohoho!"

Brooke wasn't really too worried about her not being able to pay, since most of the time his tea corner was overpriced simply for being in the upper class district. So really, most of the time people would be paying him enough that he wouldn't really suffer much of a financial loss to treating a cute girl now and then. Although if some of his more greedy crew members like Lady Nami heard about it they'd likely smack him upside the head.

Tsubaki smiled. Everyone had been treating her so well since she came to Siren's Port. She was apprehensive at first, wondering what people's motives were. Truth be told, she was still suspicious of everyone and didn't plan on letting her guard down, but if having to go outside and mingle meant free food, than that was a risk she would have to take.

"Thank you, that's very generous of you." Her smile remained as she turned the menu over. It took her a bit to figure the map out, but once she had found her starting and ending point, she looked utterly shocked.

"Oh, wow. I walked quite a ways from the Tower Apartments..."

If Brooke did have eyes they might have blinked a few times as he took the menu back from his young guest. "You walked here all the way from the tower apartments? Certainly seems like it must have taken you a while to find your way here. I'm just glad you found a friendly place to stop by for directions. Just wait here a moment and I'll go fetch you some tea and a slice of pie."

"I've been outside all day...It's rather scary." Her last commented was directed towards everything she encountered outside her cozy apartment, but her choice of being outside in the first place was also fitting for such a statement. She nodded towards Brooke and glanced over towards the skull cookies.

That was...an interesting touch. She tilted her head slightly, wondering if she should take one or not.

Brooke returned with a tea pot with steam coming out of it and slice of very appley pie. He placed both of them in front of his young friend and took a seat across from her with his own cup of tea. He shuddered slightly at the skull shaped cookies in the middle of the table. "Ah... you see my cook is rather fond of skeletons which is why she offered to work here... but I'm not. So to compromise I agreed that she could make the cookies skull shaped as opposed to having skull centerpieces at each table."
