TRIGGERING WARNING for suicide and abuse cognidis December 17 2011, 09:13:35 UTC
[ The feed flickers on, the poor lighting revealing only the vague outline of what appears to be a narrow alley. A small, dirty figure huddles against a dumpster, his knees drawn up to his chest, shoulders shaking with quiet tears. His voice, when he finally manages to speak, is soft, cracking under the weight of unbearable emotion. ]

I didn't want it to happen.

I tried and tried, but it was always wrong. Nothing was ever good enough. I was never good enough, and they hurt me so much, all the time I couldn't stand it!

[ His tone, now rising, drops sharply in pitch, to a whisper: ] I couldn't stand it.

[ He looks up, a mop of dirty silver hair and despairing golden eyes staring at the screen. His face is streaked with tears. ]

I had to. I didn't want to, but I had to. They wouldn't stop, and it was the only way.

I killed them. They're dead, and it's my fault. Everything is.

[ His tone, once shaky with tears is smoother now and more assured. Eerie. ]It's okay, though. It doesn't matter anymore. Nothing does. I'm glad that they' ( ... )

[Shit. That's Livio's. Shit.

She calls him immediately, hoping he'll pick up and that he won't be outside.]

[ He's not. He's sitting at home, shaken from what he's seen.

He answers after the fifth ring, but words don't come. ]

[She waits until he picks up. When there's no sound, she speaks:]

Livio.

[The scene is reminiscent of a posh penthouse suite, with pristine glass doors that open out into a starry night over a still swimming pool, several deck chairs, a couple of tables and even a Jacuzzi. The view outside is completed by the palm trees swaying gently in the breeze...and a few statues here and there of a certain Larry Butz. One statue shows Larry busy folding a paper crane with a little too much flourish, and another statue depicts him just lounging beneath the largest palm tree ( ... )

[Why is Larry out at this time? Oh, because he forgot his NV - his NV, of all things - at Lion's Gate after work. And he only realized that late at night. Way late.

So when he saw himself on the NV, Larry was standing out in the darkness in Sector 6, just a short walk away from his house. He was stunned to see himself...so stunned that he stopped at a corner to watch, under a flickering lamppost. He had no idea that he was already staring, jaw dropping down onto the pavement, and silently evaluating what this other Larry was doing. The Larry in the NV was a big shot. A millionaire, from the looks of it. With a girlfriend and a cute assistant, with victories not even his best friends Phoenix Wright and Miles Edgeworth could ever know ( ... )

[ There's a dingy room, with concrete walls and flooring. The walls has many graffiti, with sentences like NONE OF YOU WILL SURVIVE, NO ZOMBIE IS SAFE FROM CHICAGO TED, or I'M CHANGING INTO ONE OF THEM. There are shelves of first aid kits. The table in the center showed an enormous pile of weapons and ammo. Sitting on the edge of that table is Zoey, wearing the exact same clothes she wore in her home world of zombies and destruction ( ... )

[Welp. That was officially creepy. And reminescent of their first conversation when Zoey re-arrived to Siren's Port. Ro didn't hesitate in getting out her NV.]

you okay?

[ Like Rochelle, it took a long while for Zoey to respond after the midnight show, but not for the same reasons.

Basically, she has a trashed apartment and a completely traumatized puppy. :( ]

I'm cool. You?

Trigger warning: brief mentions of abuse and teen pregnancy batgraduate December 17 2011, 17:07:09 UTC
{ The blonde on screen looks excited. She wears a red cape, silver bracers, a red t-shirt with an R logo, a fairly recognizable utility belt, jeans and sneakers. On her head is a red headband and a pair of glasses recognizable by a spare few. Around her neck is a logo that can't be missed. To even the most casual viewer it would be obvious that this girl is a Superhero Fangirl. }

You listening, young adults? That's right. The kids are all in bed, safe and sound. The only ones left awake at this hour are the worried parents and- you guessed it! The good, the bad, and the just plain ugly. Nothing's good for family bonding like staying up late hoping daddy dearest gets a life sentence this time around.

{ The excitement turns into energized brooding, complete with crossed arms and pout. }

But that's not the sort of family bonding I asked you all out here to talk about. See, I've got a problem. I've got a kid. No, no, no, the kid isn't the problem. The kid is gone. That's kind of the problem. She- I think it's a she, I should have let ( ... )

[Uhh...wow.

Is that true? Roxas wonders, still staring at the TV even after the image is gone. Looking for a man...she hadn't seemed like she was looking very hard when they'd gone to the movies. Then again, she'd been with him so maybe she wouldn't have needed to, but he was still kind of a kid. And not...super.

And the rest. She had a child? A daughter? What had happened to make it better for her to give it away? He's never even had parents, so he is no expert on what they should and shouldn't be like. But it still seems-maybe not wrong, but sad. Really sad.]

Wow. [Joe just whistles low, sitting beside his friend. Even though it's Saturday, Merlotte's has been really lenient about schedules this week...ever since Tifa died.

So he's been taking to staying in and watching this weird midnight TV, and-]

Wow. I had no idea your date had issues like that.

[Then he nudges Roxas playfully, with a teasing grin.]

So. You 'super', or what?

[The screen flicks on and the camera is adjusted by a pale hand. Clearly this show is being filmed in documentary style. A Christina Nickson not unlike the one that's been struggling to find her footing in Siren's Port pulls back and smiles warmly at the camera.

That, alone, is a difference. Christina has barely smiled in a real, happy way since she arrived. She shrugs her shoulders, giggles, and then looks shyly off screen, as if waiting for prompting. There's some unspoken giggly argument between her and whoever is coaxing her to speak off-camera and she finally ducks her head and waves at the camera.]

Hi. They... Asked me to do this as part of some kind of Newcomer Outreach program- sort of a look at what teenagers are like here to give hope for the youth who get stuck here... I guess saying 'stuck' is the wrong way to put it. It's that thinking that makes you believe you're just idling by, waiting to go home. But it doesn't have to be like that.

There's hope. You can make a decent future here. You can be a better person. [She ( ... )
